This the traditional piece I've been working on- let's say I've had somersaulting cats on my mind for weeks, and I'm so happy to be done! I think in many ways, it is something different from what I'd typically do. Anyone that knows me would agree that I'm not a really bubbly, cheerful person (my own father once compared me to Wednesday from the Addams Family), but in an uncharacteristic truly joyful mood, I had the image of somersaulting cats and thought that this symbol would be the epitome of happiness.
The original is an 11x14 clayboard, done with ink, acrylics, and a few colored pencil accents thrown in. The large cat (Ms. Mister) was also done with india ink, but I painted it on rice paper and affixed it to the board, then I overpainted the whiskers and other fur accents. The grey accents on the fur aren't really that noticeable- I ended up taking a photo of it and the lighting made things stand out a bit more, but as a whole, it's appearance is pretty true to the original (except I had to crop the photo a bit).
So, okay, I know the idea is kind of strange...I was taking kind of a risk in the childlike simplicity of it...would you think I'd be a fool to put this on display at an art show????! I'm undecided...
Awwwwwww *__* ... Sorry. Ooh no, it was definitely the right decision to upload this!! Great idea, however...And the large cat looks really cute with its whiskers xD Very nice coloring too! Argh, I just love this piece ^_^ Very well done, really!

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
Have a great time everyone and please fav this article so as many people can see the featured works. I would recommend seeing each one and faving them too.
